Just a short drive from Los Flamingos, the coastline leads down to the relaxed beachside area of Costalita. This charming stretch of beach is known for its laid-back atmosphere and small beachfront restaurants where residents and visitors gather for lunch or sunset dinners by the sea.

For those looking for a more refined dining experience closer to home, Villa Padierna Palace offers a selection of well-known restaurants within the resort itself. Together, the nearby beach restaurants and the dining options within Villa Padierna create a balanced culinary offering, allowing residents of Los Flamingos to enjoy both relaxed seaside dining and fine gastronomy just minutes from home.

Pepe’s Beach Bar — Relaxed beachfront dining with seafood and sunset views at Costalita
La Veranda — Elegant Mediterranean dining at Villa Padierna Palace
La Loggia — Andalusian-inspired cuisine within the Villa Padierna resort
99 Sushi Bar — Internationally recognised high-end Japanese cuisine

Villa Padierna Golf Club

Golf is a central part of life in Los Flamingos, with Villa Padierna Golf Club forming the heart of the resort. The club offers 54 holes across three courses, creating one of the most established golf environments on the Costa del Sol. Each course has its own character, allowing players of different levels to enjoy the game in a varied and scenic setting.

Flamingos Golf — Flamingos Golf was the first course to open at the resort in 2001 and was designed by Antonio García Garrido. The 18-hole par-71 course is known for its elevated fairways and panoramic views across the Mediterranean and surrounding hills. It has hosted several professional tournaments, including events on the European Senior Tour and the Ladies European Tour.
Alferini Golf — Opened in 2007 and designed by Cristóbal Guerrero, Alferini Golf is the longest and most technically demanding course within the resort. The 18-hole par-73 layout stretches through a peaceful valley and is recognised for its more challenging design, making it particularly attractive to experienced golfers.
Tramores Golf — Tramores Golf, designed by Antonio García Garrido and opened in 2009, is an 18-hole executive course with a par of 63. With its shorter layout, the course focuses on short-game play and is well suited for beginners, junior golfers or residents looking for a quicker round.

Golf Academy & Training Facilities

The resort is also home to the Michael Campbell Golf Academy, led by the 2005 U.S. Open champion. The academy offers professional coaching, individual lessons and structured training programmes.

Residents and visitors also benefit from excellent practice facilities, including a large driving range with multiple hitting bays, short-game areas, putting greens and practice bunkers. These training facilities make the resort not only a place to play golf, but also an ideal environment to develop and improve one’s game.

Villa Padierna — The Jewel of Los Flamingos

Often considered the jewel of Los Flamingos, the iconic Villa Padierna Palace Hotel sits at the heart of the resort and plays a defining role in the character of the area. As you approach the hotel, you are welcomed by beautifully landscaped grounds and elegant tree-lined avenues that lead down through the valley towards the palace itself, creating a sense of arrival that reflects the exclusivity of the surroundings.

Inspired by the elegance of classical Italian architecture, the hotel was designed in the style of a Tuscan palace, with its distinctive pink façade, grand courtyards and marble details making it one of the most recognisable landmarks on the Costa del Sol. The vision behind Villa Padierna was to create more than simply a luxury hotel, but a destination where golf, culture and Mediterranean lifestyle come together.

Often referred to as a “museum hotel”, the property houses an extensive private art collection with more than 1,000 sculptures, paintings and classical artworks displayed throughout the gardens, courtyards and interior spaces. In 2019 the resort entered a new chapter when it became the first hotel in Spain to be operated by the international luxury brand Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas, further strengthening its reputation as one of the most distinctive resorts on the Costa del Sol.

Surrounded by the Flamingos, Alferini and Tramores golf courses, Villa Padierna remains the central landmark of Los Flamingos, combining history, architecture and lifestyle in a setting that defines the identity of the entire resort.

Real Estate & Prices

Los Flamingos offers a broad range of properties, from contemporary apartments to luxury villas and building plots. Many homes are positioned along the hillsides within a natural valley setting, meaning that most properties benefit from open views across the surrounding golf courses, Mediterranean Sea or the landscaped valleys. Apartments are typically located within secure communities with landscaped gardens and elevated viewpoints overlooking the fairways.

Nearby Cancelada, just a short drive away, provides access to newer residential developments at generally more accessible price levels, often including amenities such as gyms and spa facilities. Projects such as Essence Residence and Solaia Residence further support the area’s ongoing development.

Compared to central Marbella, Los Flamingos often offers a similar lifestyle and infrastructure, but at a more attractive price point. This combination of quality surroundings, golf-oriented living and relative value makes the area appealing to buyers looking for the Marbella lifestyle with strong value for money.

Why Invest in the Area

The New Golden Mile has seen increasing buyer interest in recent years, supporting steady price development and strong rental demand across both short- and long-term markets. Compared to more mature prime locations, the area can still offer good relative value.

Los Flamingos continues to attract international purchasers thanks to its residential character, accessibility and access to quality amenities such as golf courses, dining options and wellness facilities at Villa Padierna. These fundamentals make the area a sound option for long-term investment.
